As the name suggests, these chalky sweets have a love heart printed on them along with a romantic word or phrase. This card depicts a reimagining of the classic sweet with a uniquely Jersey phrase. Suitable for any occasion. ‘Mon Vie’ is a common term of endearment in Jèrriais, also known as, Jersey French, Jersey’s traditional language, which was the predominant language spoken across the island until the early 1900s. Mon Vie is Jersey French ‘Man Vyi’, which is the equivalent to the French ‘Mon Vieux’ (My old friend). However, the literal translation from Jèrriais is simply ‘my old’. Nevertheless, the meaning behind the phrase is the same; A term of endearment spoken to friends and loved ones, alike. This card is 148mm by 148mm (A standard square greeting card). The inside is blank and comes supplied with a blank white envelope.
